The world's population has reached 8 billion. The United Nations has reported that the world's population has reached 8 billion due to the decrease in child mortality and the increase in average life expectancy.

In 2019, the world's average life expectancy reached 72.8 years. Since 1990, the average life expectancy has increased by about 9 years. In the year 2050, it is estimated to increase to 77.2 years.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guntares has said that the rapid development in the health sector has increased human life expectancy and reduced maternal and child mortality. The United Nations has said that the world's population has exceeded 1 billion in 11 years.

In the latter half of the 20th century, there was a huge increase in the world's population. The United Nations says it will take 15 years for the world's population to reach 9 billion. Similarly, it is said that the population will reach 10 billion only in 2080.
