The Ministry of Finance has formed a committee to negotiate with the agitating Victims Committee" in Kathmandu.
According to the ministry's spokeswoman, Dhaniram Sharma, a negotiation committee has been established, coordinated by Bhupal Baral, Chief Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance's Financial Sector Management and Institutional Coordination Division.
Representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and representatives of Nepal Rastra Bank will also be members of the negotiation committee formed by the decision of the Minister of Finance.
Spokesperson Sharma informed that the committee has been given the mandate to discuss and recommend a solution with the microfinance victim committee.
Nepal Rastra Bank is also trying to solve the problem of microfinance victims by keeping a separate desk. As the agitation is still going on in Kathmandu, a committee has been formed to initiate a solution through dialogue, said Sharma.
The committee has also written to the Ministry of Home Affairs to facilitate the talks.
