Nepal is a leading country in tiger conservation

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that Nepal has succeeded in maintaining global recognition as a leading nation in the conservation of rare wild animal species including tigers.

On World Tiger Day today, he congratulated everyone that Nepal has set a target of doubling the number of tigers by the year 2022 and that the target has been achieved ahead of schedule.

Nepal had set the goal of doubling the number of tigers by 2022 at the World Tiger Conference held in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 2010. That target has been completed before the specified period. Prime Minister Dahal expressed his gratitude to everyone for fulfilling the commitment made by Nepal to the international community.
