The House of Representatives meeting scheduled for Monday at 1 pm has been postponed after the leader of the largest opposition party, the CPN-UML, declared that he would block the parliament if a high-level committee was not established to look into the gold smuggling case.
On the instructions of Speaker Devraj Ghimire, General Secretary of Federal Parliament Bharatraj Gautam has informed that the next meeting has been adjourned till 1 o'clock on Tuesday.
In order to investigate the case of gold smuggling, the UML had maintained that the government should first form a high-level investigation committee.
UML informed the speaker on Monday afternoon that if they tried to run the parliament without forming a high-level committee, they would surround the well and not allow the parliament to run.
