14th President Running Shield Tournament...

 

The 14th central level President's Running Shield Games organized by the National Sports Council (Rakhep) starts today, Tuesday.

The president of the tournament, Ramchandra Paudel, will inaugurate the event at Dasharath Stadium

686 players from all seven provinces will participate in the competition.

There will be a competition for 56 gold medals. Athletics boys/girls will compete for 26 golds with equal 13-13, karate, taekwondo, and usu boys/girls will compete for 36 golds with 6-6 each and volleyball and kabaddi boys/girls will compete for 4 golds with equal 1/1.

The responsibility of monitoring the 6 games included in the competition has been given to the maintenance board members.

The total cash prize of the competition is 11 lakh 52 thousand rupees. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each game event.

The President's Running Shield is the biggest competition for junior athletes.
